To: ADI-SMCS Parents, Guardians, and Students
We are currently in the middle of our third trimester of the school year 2021-2022 and many are already curious or excited on what is in store for us, considering the relaxing trend of IATF rules, in the school year 2022-2023. With this, permit us to give you a glimpse of our initial Hybrid Flexible (HyFlex) Learning Modality plan.
HyFlex structure means that both online and onsite students will be progressing together with the use of technology tools set up in each classroom of the school. This includes teacher-facilitated (TF) classes and independent learning (IL) sessions, but students will already be reporting to school in a manner (schedule, structure, process, protocol, etc.) that is still being polished by our HyFlex Learning Support (HyFlex Classroom), Formation, Curriculum, and Instruction teams led by our associate principals: Mrs. Ma. Llane Cordero MBA, Mr. Primo Escobañez MA, Dr. Michel Guevara, and Dr. Matthew Lasap. In this construct, internet connectivity and the gadgets to be used for the teaching-learning process are still indispensable. It is designed as such that if emergency lockdown is declared anew, classes will still be done online automatically without any form of disruption.
Although we are giving a premium to HyFlex modality for the next school year, it must be clear to everyone that nothing is final yet as everything is still in its planning, consultation, and pilot testing stages. Much so that we also recognize that many external variables are still ambiguous and anything can happen in the context of the pandemic. With this, we urge all stakeholders of the school to be patient with us and to actively participate in our online surveys which is vital in the process of polishing our HyFlex plan. We will also continue our consultations with our faculty, staff, students, parents, guardians, and educational experts in this enterprise.
We are already collaborating with the local DepEd officials with our HyFlex structure, hoping that we be given the blessing to hold student-based pilot testing this late March and April, strictly adhering to the usual health and safety protocols. Currently, the school is still looking into possibilities on what grade level of students (preferably, with SHS on the initial stage) are we to accommodate in this modality.
Nonetheless, following IATF and LGU rules, we continue to encourage our students in all grade levels to be vaccinated which is one of the government requirements for face-to-face classes. Furthermore, we humbly remind everyone to already make the necessary provisions for the next school year in terms of internet connectivity, residence or proximity to the school, online learning implements, and psycho-emotional readiness of our students, among others.
Lastly, we urge everyone not to worry about the details of our HyFlex plan for all these will eventually be shared with all stakeholders through a series of memoranda, orientations, and trainings, if necessary, as soon as it is ironed out and firmed up.
Amid the ambiguity of things, let us continue to patiently collaborate with each other to ensure a smoother and more efficient transition onwards to the “next normal”! AMDG+
