Ateneo de Iloilo-Santa Maria Catholic School swept all the five categories in two basketball tournaments in just three days.
Last February 19, the Ateneo Blue Dragons won championships in three categories in the First Assumption Cup.
In the 10 under category, the blue-and-white team outlasted Colegio de San Jose (CSJ), 34-25, to win the trophy for the mid-elementary division. In the 12 under category, ADI had an easy time disposing the same rival school for the final score of 47-39 to bag the second championship tiara of the day.
In the high school 16 under category, Ateneo had to scamper for a 75-70 victory against a familiar but formidable opponent in CSJ to complete a championship sweep in this inaugural friendly competition.
Junior Franz Ray Diaz emerged as the 16 under tournament Most Valuable Player (MVP). He is also part of the Mythical 5 Selection together with fellow Atenean junior Simon Kevin Ong.
On the other hand, grade schooler Shan Rois Mateo ended up as MVP and part of the Mythical 5 Selection of the 10 under category, while the following blue draglet Jann Emmerich Guadalupe ruled over the 12 under category as MVP. Furthermore, Guadalupe and batch mate Uriel Endino, also ended up in the Mythical 5 Selection.
